After winning an elimination match at Falkirk, the Marwick rink when to Kirkaldy and played three matches in the day. The first two were 10 ends each and the final was to be 12 ends, but ended after Kenny Marwick swept Kenny Horne's last stone out to take seven in the 11th end.

At that time, Marwick and Moffat played with Canadian corn brooms, the only players in Scotland to do so.
